Folks -- especially Bob since he obviously connected to the board -- what URL are you using to connect to this board if you connected on 8/10 around 1 or 2 pm EST? I can't get to it using
www.thorotech.com (though I can get to it if I supply the IP address). Others have also had problems but, it seems, some can connect.

If you can connect, please tell me the URL in your address bar.

Nathan,

Using exactly the same URL. However, I've had problems since this morning but the way I get through is to just keep trying. Took about 20 clicks on the link to get through just now.

I figured you were working on the site and I was just between downloads and uploads.

Thanks Bob.
I know that I can't get here unless I specify the IP address -- and I know at least one other person can't get here either.

I don't know what's going on, if its the hosting company or some internet problem.

If people persist to have difficulties getting on the site (such as the one Bob described), feel free to post on the board a message stating the problem.

The company that hosts the site said that there Domain Name Server "got balky" (a technical term?) and it had to be restarted. It would be nicer if they had picked up my message a few hours ago, but things should be back to normal.

Please do let me know if you experience problems that seem more than very temporary in the future.

Thanks,
Nathan

The IP address alone won't take you to where you want to be. This is what you have to do:

Go to C:\win32\drivers\etc\

locate "hosts". dd this entry to the end of the file

64.14.128.85 http://www.thorotech.com

This essentially bypasses any DNS lookup.
