... not really.
Here's some info about the Saratoga meet so far. Things are looking good. Some very rosey angles appearing for the Simulations alone. This is from UNtuned statistics. Overall we've got 158 races. We've won 20.25% of these. This is low. But, thanks to some nice payoffs (the highest being that Zito 36.8$ horse), we're only -5.85% down playing every race. If you only play horses 2/1 or better, you pocket a 1.9% on your investment. Seek that longshot only (10/1 or higher), you get 27 plays and end up making 70% ROI on the deal. And then things get interesting. I hope you like "long sprints". There have been 24 of them. ES has hit 10 of them(!). That's 41.6%, for a 196% ROI. I like long sprints now. Lets keep OFF the grass. Its so bad I'm not hoping for a turnaround. Last year was only marginally better by this time of year. Profiler can't crack this nut either. While Prime Power (and esp. dominant Prime Power) has an edge, most everything is flat. But, there has been 101 dirt races. On the dirt, ES is hitting 26.7% for a +24.85% ROI overall. Obviously, the Long Sprints are the bread and butter right now -- though in the last week of racing there has been 8 races and the Sim only hit 2, nothing worth mentioning. Routes are in the neg overall but 4/11 in the last week with a +14% ROI. Sprints are doing very poorly. The turf has been abysmal and I just don't know why. -Nathan |

I have noticed that ES does better on the Turf courses at Hollywood and Del Mar. The only true difference that I can find is: These courses are more firm and lend themselves to more wire to wire winners. They don't come off the pace as well here. They still do it, but not those big rushing up winners in the last 16th like you see in turf courses down south. they tend to favor horses within 4 lengths at the top of the turn.
This is also true on the dirt at Del Mar. The winners are no more than five off at the mid turn mark lately. No real big closers unless you see blistering pace. Anything at 22 or slower for the first 1/4 in 7furlongs or less seems to favor the horses just off the pace or on the lead. |
