I just discoverd my charts do not show up using chart viewer. They show as being downloaded each time and this is the first time I tried to view them. This is only happening on the 2 letter tracks with the x at the end [ie ggX] Has any one else observed this? While researching this situation I notice I could not select an individual track on the download list I set up. You either get all or none. This is not bad on the download but I was trying to delete some and the only way to do that is delete all and rebuild the list. A bit cumbersome but I can live with it if need be. Nathan A screen like the open cards by date screen would really be nice Jerry

Hi Jerry, I had not looked at the charts of any of the 2 letter tracks until seeing your post, but in checking, I too can't see those charts. If you rename them without the x, they're okay. Nathan.... W

Hi Win Thanks for the info. I will go back and update all the ones I thought were there but are not. Jerry

OK, I've added fixing the tracks with two letters to the list of things to do. I've been tied down with the holidays and a project at work, should be able to get back to working on 6.0 soon. I'll tweak the charts downloader in the File Grabber so that it lets you edit the track list a bit better.

I think I'm missing something here. I thought that you were talking about: A) Use the File Grabber to download an instant chart. For Golden Gate, the abbreviation needed is "GG". B) File Grabber downloads this to the appropriate "charts" folder. For tracks with a two letter abbreviation, it appends an "x" in the name. For example, 12/6/09 for GG becomes ggX_12_6_09.html C) With the "auto-store charts' option on (Profiler DB menu), when you store the race card for that day, ES knows the path to use to get to the appropriate chart file. D) Then, going to Profiler DB->Chart Viewer, you can pull up that days races and the chart will be visible. My understanding is that the chart portion was not showing up for tracks with two letter abbreviations. I tried it with a GG card (12/6, in fact), and it worked. So, I'm guessing that I'm misunderstanding the problem.... Can someone tell me the steps they are taking that illustrate the problem?

Nathan, After I use File Grabber to download the tracks, the 2 letter tracks are appended with an "x" as you said, but after I store them that way, I can't then see them with the Chart Viewer. It seems as though the Chart Viewer is looking for the actual track code (no "x"). My experience is that if I rename the chart without the "x", and then re-store it, it is then viewable with the Chart Viewer. I know it wouldn't matter as long as the program can find the files, but in the past the Instant Charts were NOT appended with an "x". Also Nathan, as has been asked recently, can you explain how the new "Auto-store Charts" option works? Some of us can't seem to see what that option is doing. Thanks, W

Hi Nathan This is the same as I do. I use the file grabber in roi 6. I have noticed it has the same version as the one in roi 5. Perhaps you are waiting to get it fine tuned before updating the version. After I download, I store to esim using file by name. This brings up the screen with the files and the 2 letter tracks have the x attached. I store those and the screen says they have been stored. However, you go to chart viewer and it does not see them. If you remove the x prior to storing, chart viewer will see them. I have changed my exist charts but will send you more info after the races wed and I have new ones to work with. Jerry

OK, I've duplicated the problem. Other than renaming the files, the immediate work around is to use the "Auto Store Charts" option in the Profiler DB menu. When on, this will automatically attempt to locate the chart file and STORE it when you store races to a database (any method, store by date, store all loaded races, etc). This makes it so there is only one storing step, instead of two (and, it works with the **X file names right now).

Hi Nathan Thanks for the update. I did not realize checking auto store charts would store them when I stored the race. That is a great feature. I just tested it. You have to download the charts to the es root folder, not a seperate download folder. I have been using a seperate folder as it is easier to store the charts from there when using store by name. They all appear that way. JerryThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Jerry Hill,
