Graded Stakes |
I am a pace makes the race handicapper. I need to be sure what E1 & E2 mean in Equisim. I would expect E1 in a sprint to be 1st quarter mile and E2 to be the half mile. In a route up to 1 1/4 it would be 1st call at 1/2 mile and 2nd call would be at 3/4 mile. At 1 & 1/2 mile + it would be 1st call at 3/4 mile and 2nd call at 1M. It is very important to me that I have this right.
If I have it right, are turf races any different? Freddy |

Freddy,
Here's the most elaborate answer: For: eJUVISPRINT - eSUPERSPRINT: eSPRINT: eLONGSPRINT: E1 is the 2 furlong pace fig For Routes (less than 10 furlongs): E1 is 4 furlongs. For Long Routes (10 furlongs to 12.5 furlongs): E1 is 6 furlongs -- but I would stress that the usage of pace figures for these long races is at best a guess since there are so few of them that making pace figs must be guess work. Same for Turf. For E2, add 2 furlongs for whatever race distance. So, I believe your initial assessment is correct. |
