Hi all,

Has anyone been able to get ES 6.0 running on Windows Home Premium 64 bit? My understanding is that it doesn't support Windows XP Compatibility mode.

Thanks,
-Nathan

Nathan,

That is also my understanding. XP Mode is only for Win 7 Pro, Ultimate and Enterprise. Can always upgrade to Windows 7 Pro , the cost is @ $90. Its pretty painless, and I've done it several times.

To start the process, One can click the start button - All Programs - Windows Anytime upgrade.

Purchase the software online(Credit Card is needed)

Activation code is sent to your email address.

The install will convert to Windows 7 Pro and all programs and settings are retained.

I just 'upgraded' my laptop from Vista 64 to W7/32 so I can run ES on it. Guess I should have just installed W7 pro on my new desktop. If running W7 pro would you download ES in XP mode to install all the components, including the Jet Database?

Has anyone actually run ES on a 64bit system?

Thanks, Bill

Will ES Version 5 run on Win 7 Home Premium... It keeps telling me that I dont have the Jet Engine installed. I searched and found I have the .dll MS Jet 4.0 installed and it still doesnt run... This is very confusing and frustrating to say the least... Any help is appreciated.... John

Download

http://download.virtualbox.org...4.0.12-72916-Win.exe

This is Oracle Virtualbox where you can run a Virtial machine in any old operating system ( If you have the original disks ).

I use this on Win a 7 Ultimate 64 and also on a Vista Home laptop with no problems as I set up Virtual machines with WinXP Pro.

It should run without XP mode. I'm running WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit Quad Core computer, and it runs fine in regular mode. Don't have to run it in XP mode.
