This has been happening for about a week-When one brings up the Thorotech site you see three circle shaped icons. 'Free software for handicappers' on the left. 'Equisim ROI free demo' in the center and 'Thorotech Racing Forums' on the right. Now at home I get only the center icon but at work I get all three. I need to say that I do get the text below the icon so I can access everything. When I go to the DRF site at home I am missing the tabs at the top (results, entries, ect)but at the office every thing is fine. It appears I have some issue with explore, no? All other sites I use appear to be OK!
My home system is XP with IE 6.0 My office is 98 with IE 6.0 What I have tried to no avail-Set computer back to a date when I knew this was not happening. Downloaded Foxfire browser and tried it. Has anyone had this issue? Any advice is appreciated. Frustrating Freddy |

How did it work with Firefox? Have you tried clearing the cache in IE and/or have you hit reload when the page does not have all the icons?
My guess is that it is an issue with the IE cache and you need to clear it. |

I'm stumped but I bet JustRalph can help you. He is a master at this sort of stuff. I recommend dropping him an email. Hopefully he or somebody here can help you out. Sorry I could not.

Jim: It is possible you may have hit on something with the cache. I also have AOL and they have a check your computer feature. I ran it and found one problem. It said I may not have the cache setting correct for optimum browsing and recommended setting it to 128. I went in and I was already above 128 (700) but incresded it to max setting and still have the same problem. I am thinking about uninstaling IE and reinstalling but I may tinker around with some other stuff first. Methinks AOL uses Netscape but I am not sure and then if IE is the issue I wonder why Foxfire does the same thing, I hope Just Ralph checks in and reads this. Maybe he can clear it up.

I think AOL uses Netscape. Can you get the page to come up properly in AOL? Not sure you can uninstall IE, but you can certainly install the latest version over what you have. I would try that if it were me.
Jim PS..As an aside is there anything helpful to the horseplayer with AOL that is not found with a regular internet browser? Always wondered about them. |

Jim: Nothing special about AOL that I know of. I only keep AOL because I have had it with my email address for so long and my daughter uses the instant message to talk with her friends. I probably do not need it as I only use it to check email.

Hi Freddy, A few suggestions as it could be a number of things causing the issue: Check to see if you have any Ad or filtering content type program enabled and turn that off and then reload the page. Not sure what type connection you have, Phone Line, cable or DSL but since this is happening in different type browsers try to cold boot the PC, turn it all the way off for 1 minute and then back on. Immediately open the browser and go to the Thorotech page without opening any other programs. If you still have the same issue hit CTRL + F5 to refresh the cache. If you still have the problem then you might consider checking what programs are running at startup. A quick way to do that is click Start - Run - Type in Msconfig and click on the Startup Tab. If you can tell us what programs are starting up we might be able to decipher if this is causing your issue. Let us know if that helps. HP |

Holhing Pattern:Thanks for your assisting me with this problem:
I have a DSL connection I have tried closing all ad blockers (or at least any I know of) Cold boot? I am not sure what that means but I did turn off the computer using the on/off button on my tower and then followed your instructions but did not solve. I will run the Msconfig tonight and let you know what is on the start program. I am also communicating with Just Ralph via PM on the PA board. Your help is appreciated Freddy |

Hi Freddy,
