Nathan, You solved it!

Once hyper-threading was turned off in the BIOS settings, DB Direct worked perfectly.
It seems that I can now export as many cards as I choose with no hanging of any sort.

After you mentioned it as a possible cause, I did a search and found references to other programs which also have hyper-threading compatability problems which are pretty identical to mine.

I find the exporting speed still about the same with H-T turned off. One difference showing is that the CPU usage for ES has doubled with one less virtual processor. It's now the same usage as shows on my other machine.

If I should come across any possible fixes that will enable hyper-threading with the present build of ES/DB Direct I'll let you know. For now I'm quite satisfied to have functionality again.

Thanks Nathan! And thank you Jerry and Head Hawg!

Hi Win
Good news on the fix. I am surprised HT does that. Good to now. Does ht affect any other part of ES so far?

Jerry,

I haven't really noticed any difference in speed whether H-T is turned on or off. Other than using DB Direct for long runs, ES worked fine with H-T turned on.

I don't know of any other issues with HT and ES. The problem that occurs when using DB Direct may not even be in ES -- it could be in the ODBC drivers for database connectivity. DB Direct uses these. ES uses the "native" support for JET only - so there's actually a different db layer.

Hi N
Sounds good to me. Do you have any idea if HT speeds up ES in profiling races?

look at your database size. If it is >1 gig that is your problem. Bad news you have to sim and profile all races again this time do not save charts. The Charts can not be deleted (I do not think)for database.

PS I have a AMD FX 64bit proc 1 gig memory Raid 0 and it happed to me.
