I've mentioned this before -- I use this forum as a repository for ideas. Just had one.
As more folks start doing research with ES a need for export/save features on certain things, such as the Profiler, becomes apparent. For example, it would be nice to do a profile and then quickly save it off to a file, perhaps a spreadsheet but atleast a text file for later comparison.

Si Si senor,

That would be of great assistance. Spreadsheets can be imported into Access and are great tools.

Well lets see I was elected President on two votes, so three votes for an export of say a comma delimited file that can be read by excel or access wins by a landslide!!!!

I don't use access, but excel will work just fine.

So great,

Bill

I am very much in favor of being able to export files to a spreadsheet such as excel or access.
I have a Jornada 720 that is lighter to carry to a otb facility than a laptop computer. I always end up with reams of paper of printed information when i go to the races, therefore being able to export is a real winner..

JC,

While I have just about every kind of computer I no longer have my Jornada. There's a funny thing about them that you obviously have not noticed, yet. When you drop them on a concrete floor from a height of about 6 feet they tend to quit working. <G>

Mine did and it was full of good data. It was an old one though and now I'm looking at new Pocket PCs or Palms and all of the new ones now have me completely confused. I am absolutely confident that whatever I get will be outdated two weeks after I get it.

Before you got yours did you do a lot of research? If so, I'd be interested in your thoughts about current models and whether I should wait a while. ZDNet has done nothing for me except to confuse the issue further.

Thanks,

Bob

Dear Nathan

Yay Yay ...Anything you come up with that can help analyze the profiler results would be a big boon. I've been trying to do it by hand and it's a rotten job....
regards Kat

Can't help it. Must get on this bandwagon. Would be crazy about a file I could tinker with in Excel as part of my handicapping effort. I still like being at the track to make my plays and can be found moving about the grounds especially SAnita as much as four days out of a given week. So, i do the bulk of my handicapping the eve before and travel lightly as possible. I don't lug a laptop although i may someday have interest in the right presentation on a handheld. I like tools that do repetitive and tedius tasks for me as well as making snapshots of important data. For instance, i would print a copy of just the Fractions Page if i could. I don't buy tip sheets and don't want a magic box to accomplish something so personal as my handicapping and decision process. Otherwise it's just money, impersonal and dirty if not improper or crude although necessary to the most majestic of sports. Three pages of information per card is about the most i ever want in my pocket as i move about the grounds with one hand gripping my tickets and in the other a cool beverage. I'm still mostly a lurker so i depart with a hearty Thank You, Nathan

Marrk, you can print fractions page. There's a print button at top on left.

What can you do with a Jormada? Is it able to run DOS and windows programs?
Could I put ESROI on one?
How about these little handhelds? Are they real computers or what?

If I wasn't doing this, I'd probably be doing something else.
