I understand your sentiment here - and appreciate that you are volunteering to be my market analyst.

DB Direct is a "boutique feature" - there are few people out there that will make use of it irregardless of cost. In fact, if it were sold cheaply I could expect a great deal of questions about a somewhat complicated subject (custom database building) from folks that just wanted to dabble. Whereas at the current price point those that do purchase it will:
A) most likely have a plan to use it

B) either know the concepts of building a db or be motivated to learn.

C) be spending enough money on their data files that they realize an additional $200 isn't that much for a tool that lets them create their own databases.

Matrix Man,

Equisim by itself is a well thought out and powerful product, but becomes EXTREMELY powerful and more versatile with the addition of the Direct DB.

IMO $200 is very inexpensive for a tool to create custom DB's to analyze data and create reports. That tool is "Worth its weight in GOLD".

Matrix Man,

I also agree with Holding Pattern. $200 is well worth the price not to spend time gathering the data into a database. In my mind the decision came down to a single decision: collect data or handicap. I can now in an instance compile stats on angles in an instance. What used to take me 3/4 hour per night is now virtually instantaneous. And DBDirect is not as error prone as doing the work by hand. DBDirect and ES with FV: please tell me where there is a better value for the $$$ in handicapping software?

I can get my database files using MS Access.
What does this do that MS Access can not?
The extra 0 on price was a bad joke, but a 7 day
trial would help me see if I really need this.

If you purchase DB Direct, you will love it.

Just the other day, I was using DB Direct and my wife was on the other computer. I told her, I can't believe Nathan only charged $200 for this thing, he has this underpriced. He could charge a grand for this and it would be worth it.

Yes, I agree, it would be nice to have a demo for DB Direct. As (if) demand grows (and people tell me about it), I will try to get a demo mode available.
