I would seriously PAY for you to add the Bris Pace Ratings:$ppE2,$ppE1, and $ppLate onto your Variables List! It's that important to me! It would make my POR column so much easier to read and handle... and what about the great E2+LATE number you have on the current Fractions View??? I'd love to be able to display that "powerful" number in one column for all distances using just a simple formula as well! PLus, I've been looking at creating a simple Energy Distribution number using different combinations of E1, E2, and LATE. Would sure make life easier if I didn't have to use multiple formulas.

Your 2 column solution (sprints and routes in different columns) could work as well but I'm afraid that I'd end up adding 2 columns everytime I add a factor that I want to see for both distance structures...Id rather have just 3 columns instead of 6, ect. Plus I'd love to be able to get my "Spreadsheet" to print out on just a page or two.


I think adding E1, E2, and LATE to the Variable List would be a benefit to everyone in the group and not just myself. I'd also be willing to show you (and the group) why.

I do understand that adding last minute items(no matter how simple it may seem for those removed from the programming proccess) can totally screw up the code, create those last minute bugs and delay documentation...and that is why I'd be willing to send some money your way to make this happen. Not trying to "Grandstand" here, just want you to know how strongly I feel about this issue.

$ppLate exists already, as it is "standardized" in all race distances.

You've sold me on $ppE1 and $ppE2 -- it won't be that difficult to add.

The only problem I have with $ppE1 and $ppE2 is the possible over-simplification that one can get. That is, it can lead to the comparision of routes vs. sprints in ways that, perhaps, they should not be compared. But that's something subjective or, at least, should be left to the person designing their own "system".

And, hearing how others might use the FV is always interesting and beneficial.

I'll still add in the $ppE1/$ppE2, but here's another way of accomplishing the very same thing (there are others too...)

Combine the two expressions into One Column:

( #GREATER($ppDistFurs, 7.9) * ($ppPace6 + (2 * $ppBtnLengths2)) ) + ( #LESSER($ppDistFurs, 8) * ($ppPace4 + (2 * $ppBtnLengths2)) )

If you put this in one expression, only the pace line of the appropriate distance will have an effect. If it is a ROUTE race, then the LEFT side of the expression will be used, and ZERO will be added to it. If its a SPRINT race, then its the reverse.

I just looked over your Formula View Variables list again and just noticed that you already have Bris's LATE Pace Rating (ppPaceLate) on the list! Excellent. So I guess now I only have to root for E1 and E2 to make the list!

Thanks for uploading the Formula View description pages...FV is making much more sense and I'm already building my templates on paper.

Another quick question...will we have any control over the font type, size and style used in a column? Could one column's numbers or text be BOLD to help set them apart? Just wondering.

I could do the font thing, but won't in this release.

Bill did give me an idea about highlighting some cells ( I have to review the e-mail, but I believe it was the top 3 in a column), perhaps by making them bold. I'm contemplating doing this. It would allow you to see the top rated values in a column at a glance without sorting on that column.
