Win,

Thanks for your suggestion & for jogging my memory. I've been away from handicapping for quite awhile & eager to get back in the game.
In my glee upon discovering Equisim V6 is on the way, I must have had a SBM episode (Spontaneous Brain Meltdown). Thanks to you, I now remember I can effectively hide any column by dragging to the left until it disappears & then saving the layout. Sorry for the lame post.

Some things I would like:

1) A way for ES to detect races on Inner Dirt so that AQU (inner) would be treated differently from AQU (main). I know that a separate db can be created but I would rather not.

2) A way for FV to be able to access an external data file, like a csv or tab-delimited text file. That way something like pars could be implemented within ES or anything else that could be put into a table of values.

3) My memory is bad, but the trainer stats in ES don't use age like how well a trainer does with 2 year olds vs. 3 yo, vs. 3+??

4) Sire stats for AW

That's all I have for right now.

Nathan: This would be nice. Not without problems. One solution would be to modify existing database structure and then add filters to everything that possibily looked at surfaces. Lot of hassle. Another solution would be to detect the inner track and then treat it as a different track __by name__. This would separate it out at the DB level. Have to look into it.

Nathan: It already can. Added at some point during V5. Go to the User's Guide and select chapter 26, Using External Data

Nathan: No, they are not part of the 'cxn abilities'. Could be a nice addition to track in ES.

4) Sire stats for AW

Nathan: There is a connection ability for 'surface'. I'm going to revise it....

RE: the inner dirt thing. I was thinking that the Inner Dirt is a surface flag, just like turf. (BTW, inner turf vs. main turf would be nice too. lol) So I wasn't thinking different track per se, just a different surface. But if implemeted, I could filter for Inner Dirt and that way ES would be profiling the AQU winter meet. Not crucial for me as I'm not sure how much I would play the meet but it would be interesting to model anyway.

How did I miss the external data feature? Old age, I guess. Smile I'll look at the docs. Thanks.

Regarding the external data - if you are interested in CJ's pace figs, he'll be sending me a data file format soon. I'll be making it so that ES will auto-load his files and use his figures if that option is selected.

Hi Nathan,

Can you add AW surface to the more config for the profiler databases?

Thanks, Bill

Nathen, any isea how you're going to treat CJ's Early Speed Number and his Late Speed Number?

They're calculated based on the last 4 or 5 races and are tremendously powerful.
