Question (from a real live user - paraphrased by me): I maintain two DBswith the same tracks in each. The big difference is that the data stored into one database uses the standard single selected pace line method while the other uses the "multiple pace line selection" method [other differences can exist, but the solution is always the same]. Everyday, I update the DBs after downloading the results by using "Store to Database." When I switch from one database to the other, I select "Use Multiple Pacelines" from the File dropdown. Today I was looking at some SPAT runs to see the differences in the two DBs for the last two weeks and the results are exactly the same. Should I not be using "Store to Database to update? Answer You need to run the simulations and/or Profile all of the loaded races again AFTER you make the switch to a different method of pace line selection. The first time you click "store to database" you do NOT need to run all simulations and/or profile all races. The software detects that this has NOT been done (if, indeed, it hasn't been done for each loaded card since the last time you started the program), and does it for you using the current settings (selected pace lines, etc.). After you make the changes to the pace lines, etc., however, "Store To Database' ends up storing the SAME thing as the first time you stored because the software sees that the Simulation has already been run and the races profiled -- so it thinks that it does NOT need to simulate/profile each race again. In order to get the new values into the database you need to re-run the simulation and/or profiler. The quickest way to do this would be to use the "Run All Simulations" and then the "Profile All Loaded Races" command. | ||
