* The connection stats for ES 4.0 rely on the usage of names - jockey names, trainer names, owner names (and horse names too, but they are not a problem).

* TSN uses different naming conventions than BRIS.

* The profiler foundation database uses TSN based naming conventions.

* You will not be able to open a BRIS card and use the PROFILER with the profiler foundation database successfully - at least, when it comes to the CONNECTION STATS portion of the Profiler. The names in the card will not match the names in the database. No match, no stats.

* Whenever you open a data card ES caches the names it finds in that data card into the Settings file that it maintains. When you go to use the CXN REPORT TOOL the lists of trainers, jockeys, etc, are populated _from the name cache_. When you do a query, you select names from the cache. So, if ES has NEVER opened a card with a name in it, it is impossible to do a query/analysis for that name even if data exists for that name inside of a Profiler Database. Since the profiler foundation db uses TSN based names, folks who have exclusively used BRIS cards will not find using the CXN REPORT on the prof foundation db very enlightening -- they lack the proper names. I am considering creating a tool that will install the names to the settings.sdb file on the computer where the tool is run. This will, however, add duplicate names in the "CXN REPORT" lists (two representations fo the same name), unless other measures are taken. I will explain more on this when the tool for installing these names is ready for delivery.

* If you are in the mismatched name predicament, note that you can still use the SPAT to discover how well the various profiler values and simulation values did in the Prof Foundation DB. You can also use the NON connection stat aspects of the Profiler.
