Where do I find the instructions for using the Charts portion of the program. Is it necessary to rename the chart files after downloading them?

The instructions for using the charts are in two places.

If you use the File Grabber utility, getting Charts is quite easy.

• In the File Grabber, set your Data Card Root Folder to be the one that Equisim uses
  
• Use the File Grabber to dowload the charts you want
  
• After the File Grabber downloads, your charts will be named correctly and stored in a folder named "Charts" underneath the appropriate Track and Year folder in you Data Card Root Folder area.
  
• There's a section in the User's Guide called:
  "Storing Race Charts in the Database" that is located in the "Working With Databases" chapter (17).
  

If you prefer NOT to use the File Grabber to download charts then you should refer to the Data Files chapter of the User's Guide. It describes how you must name the charts and how you should download them using a Web Browser.

Once charts are in a database, you can view them by:
1) Right Clicking on a Race Form view and selecting "Show Race Chart" This displays the chart for this race. This feature is now available for almost all the views (in v3.5), not just the Form View.

2) Left clicking on a pace line index (far left) in the Form View and selecting Display Chart\Race Profile

3) Going to the Profiler Database menu and selecting View Race Chart. You can then select the date, track, and race of the chart and it will appear.
