Yeah, I got an error message the first time I downloaded the beta, but deleted it and redownloaded and no problems installing it the second time.

Nathan when do you think ES4.0 will be out of Beta and ready to release? I suppose I should ask if all the documentation and instructions have been finished. Either way, I am looking forward to the final release so I can be ready for Oaklawn in January.

I'm thinking the offical release is in site - however, in my opinion the documentation is pretty poor right now and will most likely get revised. I'm waiting to hear back (or, at least, hear the moans and cries) from folks reading it/trying to understand some of the more obscure features. Nonetheless, there is "documentation" - I'm just not very satisfied with it. Definitely be availabe by Oaklawn

BOLDERDASH Nathan, I like the new documentation better than any you have ever done. It is more to the point and easy to understand. You can cut the parts about the computer illiterate. That does not belong in a users guide. And perhaps the section on data discussion is in the wrong place also. Fear not because the friendly folks on this board will assist.

WHOA THERE!! If there is a section for the computer illiterate, don't destroy it. Leave it for me. I am the Mayor of PC Illiteracyville. I need all the help I can get in "milking" the fruits of this program and there is a bigger market than me out here in the cyber world.

Thanks for the feedback Will, your points are well taken. I started out trying to make it to the point, and then realized that there are an awfully lot of points to make. My next step, other than to clean up the guide just a bit, is to develop some even more straightforward tutorials based on "wanna do this, then x, y, z". Old Codge -- the "section" Will refers to is really just a sentence or two in the introduction. Its actually more of a disclaimer that says one should know general Windows stuff, or seek that information outside of the user's guide. But, now that Will has offered to have me put his private phone number in the guide, I'll rephrase it!

Nathan, sounds good. A user guide should be step by step, i.e. do this 1st, do this 2nd, etc. I've read too many that seem to start in middle then work backwards and forwards.
