Is this repeatable? Meaning, can you make EquiSim crash by performing the same actions?
I tested it out and didn't have any problems. It could have been a one time thing caused by ????. Or...?

This address (018f 004a 1a6) indicates that the actual access violation is outside of the ES address space. The ES address space starts at 0x00400000. This doesn't mean that ES isn't at the heart of the problem, but it is does make it more probable that other things in conjunction with ES are causing the problem. As JR points out, perhaps a video card driver.

A few things:
A) Can anyone else duplicate this problem?

B) Ron, if you just do the minimum amount of steps necessary to produce the problem, what are they? For example:

1) STart ES
2) Connect to the AQU database
3) Load a card(? not necessary for use of SPAT, but....).
4) Go to the SPAT.
5) Perform operations X, Y, Z
6).....

Do you have a different machine to install ES on? if you have a laptop, try the same thing, or another desktop if available.

To get your video settings,

right click on your desktop in a blank space
choose properties and when the window opens click the settings tab and change your resolution. then try to duplicate the ES problem. If it still occurs, change your color depth (same as above) and see what happens. If it still crashes.......we have to talk about some winders fixes. As they say down south.

Nathan: Will ES run in safe mode.....that would tell the tale also?

nathan: it matters not if we go right to spats
or if we are working on something else,then go to spats. everthing works fine ,until we try to clear after using ex or tri in the spats report.
we can close the report go elsewhere and return
to whatever we wish to work on , close the program, change d/b ,only on those two items
will the progam crash. ????ron

try this one....

go into explorer and find the folder

c:\windows\temp

if there is more than one or two files (do this with no other programs open) delete them all, unless you have been storing stuff there, which you shouldn't be doing, and restart your machine. If you have been storing some stuff there, peruse the files and move whatever you want to keep. run scandisk also and report back please. Kill your Internet temps for your browser, as long as you are doing a little tune up. Let me know........
